When I started doing this series I didn't know what direction I was going to take things. I just wanted to keep connected with family and friends and do something to get them involved while we couldn't visit in person. I envisioned it as a very simple concept that focused on peoples memories and answers to questions about music in their life. I felt it would be a 3 month venture until things got back to semi-normal in mid 2020 and I wanted to keep it as a limited series to reflect on as time went on. Motivation and support from family and friends gave me a little push to start things up again and I continued the recordings during the final weeks of 2020. Not to mention what felt like a weekly push from my 10 year old daughter asking if I had any recordings planned for the week. Music is a huge part of my life. Anyone who knows me knows this. I enjoy the emotions that music can bring us regardless of whether those feelings are wanted or unwanted at any given time. It takes us through stages of our lives and locks us into memories and feelings whenever we hear certain songs. Hearing everyone's stories and their connections with music is a joy. Seeing them reflect and bring memories to the forefront brings satisfaction and understanding. It creates another layer to their personalities and lets them shine. If you're here on my website I thank you for engaging that spark of interest. I didn't really envision having a website regardless of how many times people asked what website they could view more episodes. I kept things close and only shared with family and friends. But the more I did the recordings, the more I felt their stories should be shared and easily accessed by their own family and friends. So to finally have a website up 15 months after I started this, it's a nice little feeling. Feel free to browse the episodes and pick a random one to see if you can relate to the feelings or memories that come up in the conversations I had with my guests. Or maybe check out the group trivia episodes and test your own knowledge. I'll also begin creating more posts, sharing links to recommended music (new and old), sharing links related to some of my guests, and very soon hopefully beginning to stream live episode recordings on Twitch. There's more to come with new episodes on the way and hopefully more guests lined up for recordings. All in all, I still see this as a very intimate, low key series, with a very relaxed feel and atmosphere. I'm not going for the flash, but rather focusing on the music itself intertwined with memories from my guests. Be sure to check back for updates and if you have anyone who you feel may find interest in the series (whether they know me or not), pass the link along and help them discover the show. I'm still doing this for fun but it's nice to build a small following along the way.
