"Angel Baby" is a Latin oldies classic. The simplicity of a song written by 15 year old Rosie Hamlin that would remain timeless throughout the years and into the present times. Here are 3 covers that you may or may have not heard before, with varying interpretations of the original. Angelica - Angel Baby (1991)
The 1990s Freestyle slow jam ballad that was shown frequently on The Box (remember that music video channel?). I chose the video version instead of a straight audio track because of the nostalgia for anyone who actually remembers seeing this back in the day.
Jeanette Jurado - Angel Baby (1995)
Off the My Family/Mi Familia soundtrack, Jeanette Jurado of 80s/90s group Expose, also appears in the movie during a dance scene where she and her band perform "Angel Baby" for the crowd. Great movie, great scene, and I personally didn't even realize she was the one who was in the movie until I was digitizing some of my parents CD's last year. Beautiful voice from a talented singer.
John Lennon - Angel Baby (1973)
Lennon recorded the song in the 70s but it remained unreleased until the mid 80s. If you look it up, he was a big fan of Rosie & The Originals version.
