When you take the time to dig into the catalogue of your favorite musicians you will often come across gems that you didn't know existed in the first place. I've always enjoyed finding such songs and also revisiting the forgotten songs we haven't heard in years. Last year during the lockdowns I spent a good amount of time searching thru music and one song I came across was the 1993 Janet Jackson "Because of Love" remix done by DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill.
"Because of Love," is an upbeat song to begin with, where as the DJ Muggs remix strips it down to a bass ridden track made for the boom bap style representative of the mid 90s sound. In addition to the Muggs remix, there are a handful of other remixes that were available on the vinyl and maxi CD single releases. Luckily, you can also find this remix on Spotify which is something that is sadly not applicable to many remixes of the 80s and 90s.
